Tourist visits to the major national parks increased to 77, 282 in 2013 from 62, 537 in 2012, representing an increase of 23.6 percent. South Luangwa was the most visited national park.

About a third of Zambia's motor vehicle imports (in value terms) in 2013 came from South Africa. This was followed by imports from Japan, China and the United Kingdom. Collectively, the four countries accounted for 82.1 percent of the US$889.2 million worth of motor vehicle imports.

Mobile payment solutions have been in existence in Zambia since 1999. However, they only became prominent in 2010 when Airtel Zambia became the first mobile phone provider to start providing mobile payment solutions. The 2013 ICT Country Survey Report shows that the major problem encountered by respondents in accessing mobile payment solutions is system or network failure. This was followed by slow transmission of funds to intended recipients.


Thanks to our ladies, Zambia officially imported US$1.4 million worth of wigs and weaves in 2013, according to trade statistics from the World Bank's World Integrated Trade Statistics database. The top 5 import sources for weaves and wigs are Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya, China and the United States of America. Imports of wigs and weaves nominally grew by a healthy 52% between 2012 and 2013.
